East Coast Cruises is a tour company specialising in "cruise & walk" tours to Maria Island and Freycinet National Parks. East Coast Cruises operates two vessels from the marina at Triabunna and a booking office and souvenir shop in the town's main street. East Coast Cruises is owned and operated by Michael Davis. Michael has been cruising to Maria Island for six years, whilst also maintaining his role as a marine biologist, fisheries scientist, commercial diver and master SCUBA instructor. As a scientist, Michael conducts research in Australia's numerous temperate water fisheries, coordinated with the Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA). Michael is an elected Councillor in the Tasmanian East Coast municipality of Glamorgan Spring Bay and is a representative of the region's Natural Resource Management (NRM) committee. With East Coast Cruises, Michael shares his knowledge and passion with eight other staff working alongside him to bring one of the most enthralling and unique experiences on Tasmania's stunning East Coast. East Coast Cruises also operates a daily ferry service to Maria Island and shuttle bus service from Hobart.
